My friends. Fellow New Zealand Tubers and internet citizens alike.
After what has seemed like an overly long and complex array of stories, scandals and the occasional skype post, it is time for me to take my Gossip hat off and finish this controversial blog for good.
Even through the fights and arguments and petty fallouts, we have always had the anchor that has kept us together – YouTube. We spent our lives broadcasting ourselves all over the world, gaining respect and in some cases rather large fanbases, as we expressed our opinions.
So the only way for me to do this justly and correctly, is to do something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.
Tonight, I am signing myself off from the New Zealand YouTube Community.
Not just GossipGirl, but YouTube as well.
I am no longer part of this collective that has been my life for the past year. I am no longer going to be a part of long, hilarious Skype calls, or a part of Twitter hashtag attempts, or even Dailybooth picture threads.
I feel that this is the right thing to do for all I want out of the real world, which is something that I have been ignoring for a very long time.
To all the friends I’ve made: especially Patrick, Simon, Tenani, Denise, Rache, Jess, Lewis, and most importantly Juno. You are the most amazing people on the planet, and I have been so lucky to have known you all – and continue to know you.
To everyone else: no matter what fallings out we may have experienced, we still had laughs and a whole lotta fun in between. You made my holidays enjoyable.
So, my dear YouTubers, as I sit here on my laptop I feel a great sense of sadness towards what I am doing. But it is the right thing, and I do believe that. I shall continue to watch you, and I shall continue to marvel over your attractive faces and gorgeous voices, and smile as I remember the days where I was once part of the NZYTcommunity.

Good morning boys and girls
Chances are if you are on this page you are somehow involved with the NZYT community. Some of you will have been here for a while now, and I will be the second GG you would have experienced endured. You would have witnessed the fallouts and the make ups. The dethroning of royalty and the accession of the less popular. The strength of the closest friendships and the vulnerability of the insecure. But I fear this fairy tale will not have a happy ending.
One thing I’ve noticed since taking over this site is that this community isn’t what it used to be. What was once a vibrant and active community has become a bitter and spiteful group of people. People barely make videos anymore, and most interaction is done on Twitter and Skype. An elitist group has formed, with people thinking they are better than others. There is an ‘originals’ group and a ‘newcomers’ one. Some are feeling excluded. It seems like there is a weekly spat between people. It’s too much for even me to keep track of, and you guys email me telling with every little detail of what’s been happening. That should make it easy! The incredible thing is by the time I read the emails, follow up the story and get writing, the whole thing has blown over and a new fight is brewing.
Sometimes it is unbelievable how much trouble this community causes for itself.
This is not me signing off, this is me hoping that I will have less to write about in the future. That we continue this tale in a positive light. For everyone’s sakes.
That said, I only report what you send in. As long as you keep sending it, I keep blogging it.

Just as you think the wounds were healing and the NZYT community is putting itself back together yet another blow has come to pass. This time from Simon (simonparasite) aimed at an anonymous (no points for guessing who though) person in a post on his Tumblr page. Check out the post below:

seriously, you’re never going to be like him, so stop trying to use big words especially when you can’t even spell them. he’s not camp. he’s charming and witty and people gravitate towards him because he can make people laugh and he’s smart. you, on the other hand are a sexually charged, ridiculous, immature, gossiping high school dropout and whenever someone calls up on being these things, you accuse them of being homophobic
and, oh god, please stop ‘liking’ things that other people like for the sake of fitting in, you have no idea how much it pisses people off. stick to your own territory, everyone is comfortable with you liking the disney princesses and the shitty pop stars, when you invade in to other people’s tastes you just make people hate you more, and honestly, you cannot afford that.
So what do we make of this? The state of this online community is in disarray.
Will no one try to save it? Can it be done in time?

The alcohol just keeps flowing in the NZYT community, with yet another alcohol fueled night of late night phone calls, blog TV shows and dirty dancing in gay bars. Patrick (patrickblog), Tenani (nanisnap), Jess (jessums31) and Mitch (skinnykinney) converged on Patrick’s flat to drink vodka and sexually caress each other before going downtown to dance the night away at Auckland’s preeminent gay venue, Family Bar.

I’ve also picked out a few of the quote highlights from the night, as sent in to NZYT Gossip by a dedicated informant:
Tenani: “Everyone’s got a hole, you’ve just gotta find it.”
Tenani: “Patrick can’t feel his face and Jess can’t feel her vagina, I think they should put them together”
Tenani: “Where’s the clitORis?”
Jess: “You mean clitoris?”
Tenani: “Oh is that how you say it?”Jess: “I don’t feel anything, I don’t even feel my vagina”

Good evening, NZYTers
A little worrying behaviour from the Capital this week…
Everyone’s favourite NZYT ginger Dylan (icerfish) now has another reason to be feared. It seems this Auckland playboy’s hard partying ways have infected the delicate minds of the Wellington YouTubers. On a spontaneous trip to the Capital last week Dylan took Juno (junoluvsu) and Simon (simonparasite) for a night of booze, brothels and bare skinned spooning. This worrying behaviour is likely to further propel Simon down the road to full blown alcoholism. His previous drunken hijinks can be listened to here on Tenani (nanisnap)’s Tumblr page.
In other Juno-related news she seems to be following in the footsteps of the movie of the same name… Latest rumours are that during a late night run in with a visiting James (tehdancingkiwi), the two NZYTers got a bit carried away. This exclusive photo shows the two love birds cuddling up in bed but reports say that the couple got a lot closer later in the night.
Don’t worry kids, Dr GG is on the case. Let’s see if we can’t figure out the truth behind these reports. James and Juno, do you have anything to say for yourselves?

Good morning NZYTers
After the thrilling events of this month’s Twitter meltdown, things seem to have smoothed over in the past week. Patrick (patrickblog) has changed his mind and decided he will be coming to the NZYT Gathering after all. Charlie (charlieskies) is still a big question mark.
With Stephen (3sixty5days) still confirmed as coming, latest reports are that Jess (jessums31) has put all effort into wooing him at the NZYT Gathering. Rumour has it Jess is hoping their long standing relationship will go to the next level in July. Stephen has been spotted leaving Jess flirty comments across the internet. I am following this story closely.
The stress that the NZYT community has been under lately seems to be driving some to the bottle. Simon (simonparasite) seems to be following the lead of Tenani (nanisnap), NZYT’s most prolific drunk, in drowning his sorrows with alcohol. The following recording features a Simon under-the-influence in a call to Tenani, reportedly in the early hours of the morning. Perhaps he was calling for support or advice from the town drunk. It is a widely known fact that Lewis (lewisbostock) recently featured in the Auckland stage play The Libertine, in a role which required him to act effeminate and wear a wig. Lewis must have liked his role a little too much, with the latest email saying that he still frequently dresses in women’s clothing. The following photos are from a publicity shoot for The Libertine:
What happened to Rachel (wizardneedsfoodbadly)? In the past few months the once prominent YouTuber has moved to the outside of the social scene. What could her reasons be to leave such a valued position in the hierarchy? My money’s on an unexpected pregnancy… either that or university coursework. Which do you believe? A reason based on probability? Or one that’s just plain juicy? I know which one I’d prefer.

GOSSIP GIRL BLAST – BREAKING NEWS!
Major fighting went down tonight on Twitter.
What began as a simple present for Vivien (feellinecancer) from Kevin (andkevinsaidftw) ended in an all out war on the social messaging site with Gathering cancellations and account closures.
Basically, given the bad history between Vivien and Charlie (charlieskies), Kevin thought it would be nice to get the hashtag #charliecuntskies trending on Twitter.

These developments left Patrick feeling picked on, and he later announced he would not be attending the New Zealand YouTube Gathering. Apparently, insinuating that Patrick would cheat on his boyfriend is enough to get the guy to walk away from the biggest social event of the year. Will he stick to his word? Or will he realise the missed opportunity and show up on July 11? Only time will tell…
Because of the attack on Patrick users of Twitter began to take sides with users choosing Team Patrick or Team Kevin. Cody (davanti) was dragged into it by declaring his support for Patrick, and consequentially coming under attack by Vivien and Kevin (Vivien and Cody used to be an item). After intense abuse and harassment, Cody decided to permanently delete his Twitter page.
And the final result of tonight’s Twitter carnage is that Charlie has canceled his trip to New Zealand, saying
“also is no longer attending the new zealand gathering. i’d rather not pay to meet a bunch of losers <3“
Word on the street is that Patrick spoke to Charlie and convinced him to join him in the boycott of the Gathering, upsetting many of the confirmed Gathering attendees, including Charlie’s close friend Juno (junoluvsu). In the process of his departure, Charlie has made even more enemies in New Zealand, many of whom feel attacked after doing nothing to him.
