A little worrying behaviour from the Capital this week…

Everyone’s favourite NZYT ginger Dylan (icerfish) now has another reason to be feared. It seems this Auckland playboy’s hard partying ways have infected the delicate minds of the Wellington YouTubers. On a spontaneous trip to the Capital last week Dylan took Juno (junoluvsu) and Simon (simonparasite) for a night of booze, brothels and bare skinned spooning. This worrying behaviour is likely to further propel Simon down the road to full blown alcoholism. His previous drunken hijinks can be listened to here on Tenani (nanisnap)’s Tumblr page.

In other Juno-related news she seems to be following in the footsteps of the movie of the same name… Latest rumours are that during a late night run in with a visiting James (tehdancingkiwi), the two NZYTers got a bit carried away. This exclusive photo shows the two love birds cuddling up  in bed but reports say that the couple got a lot closer later in the night.

Don’t worry kids, Dr GG is on the case. Let’s see if we can’t figure out the truth behind these reports. James and Juno, do you have anything to say for yourselves?

Twitter Wars

GOSSIP GIRL BLAST – BREAKING NEWS!

Major fighting went down tonight on Twitter.

What began as a simple present for Vivien (feellinecancer) from Kevin (andkevinsaidftw) ended in an all out war on the social messaging site with Gathering cancellations and account closures.

Basically, given the bad history between Vivien and Charlie (charlieskies), Kevin thought it would be nice to get the hashtag #charliecuntskies trending on Twitter.

These developments left Patrick feeling picked on, and he later announced he would not be attending the New Zealand YouTube Gathering. Apparently, insinuating that Patrick would cheat on his boyfriend is enough to get the guy to walk away from the biggest social event of the year. Will he stick to his word? Or will he realise the missed opportunity and show up on July 11? Only time will tell…

Because of the attack on Patrick users of Twitter began to take sides with users choosing Team Patrick or Team Kevin. Cody (davanti) was dragged into it by declaring his support for Patrick, and consequentially coming under attack by Vivien and Kevin (Vivien and Cody used to be an item). After intense abuse and harassment, Cody decided to permanently delete his Twitter page.

And the final result of tonight’s Twitter carnage is that Charlie has canceled his trip to New Zealand, saying
“also is no longer attending the new zealand gathering. i’d rather not pay to meet a bunch of losers <3“
Word on the street is that Patrick spoke to Charlie and convinced him to join him in the boycott of the Gathering, upsetting many of the confirmed Gathering attendees, including Charlie’s close friend Juno (junoluvsu). In the process of his departure, Charlie has made even more enemies in New Zealand, many of whom feel attacked after doing nothing to him.

The Countdown Begins

Hello YouTubers

I thought it appropriate to update you on the community given the anniversary just reached. Last week marked two months until the New Zealand YouTube Gathering, which is sure to be the gossip event of the year. That’s not to say that the past month has been drama free… Au contraire the past thirty days have been anything but dry in the world of NZ YouTube, so allow me to update you on the juiciest bits…

A double announcement in Gathering attendees hit last week with news that Irish YouTuber Stephen (3sixty5days) and English YouTuber Charlie (charlieskies) have decided to make the trip to New Zealand. Almost as soon as the dust settled from this announcement rumours began to fly about reasons for this trip. It is common knowledge that Patrick (patrickblog) has fallen deeply in like with Ireland’s Hottest TV Personality. Problem is Patick has a boyfriend, while Stephen and Charlie have made it clear they have feelings for each other. What other reason would Charlie have to come to NZ if not to keep an eye on his Irish boytoy? What remains to be seen is whether the Brit gets his boy back or Patrick feels the luck of the Irish.

More from the Gathering and it turns out Australian comic YouTuber Chris (chrisontv88) will no longer be attending, as was previously announced. Little is known about the reasons for his true change of heart, but I’m betting it has something to do with the rumoured ‘Australian Blacklist’ campaign the NZYT community has against Australian YouTubers ever since the Wellington Fiasco this past summer. I’m sure you can dig something more up, email me.

Self-proclaimed ‘Queen of NZYT’ Jess (jessums31) has allegedly had trouble organising sleeping arrangements for the visiting Tubers, with Denise (neechers), James (tehdancingkiwi), Corey (storycorey), Juno (junoluvsu), Simon (simonparasite) and Cameron (englishcameron) all staying over. Sounds like a slumber party I’d like to be at. Turns out James and Corey don’t like being lovers scorned by Patrick waving his new school-aged boyfriend in front of them. Something tells me there’s going to be a lot of avoidence going on when it comes to these three. As for Juno, things have changed since the last time she was in the city. I also have a feeling she will be avoiding Ben (bennysoup)’s house for the length of her trip. Word on the street is J got left outside alone when Ben flipped and bailed on the romance that was public knowledge. Bad form, BennySoup… you know how karma’s a bitch? We hear a Juno scorned can be too. Watch out.

In keeping with news from the Gathering it seems the wheels are in motion for what will prove to be a memorable day, and an even more memorable night in the NZYT world… Rumour has it that after party plans are already well in the works, with this guest list being exclusively a who’s who of the NZYT scene. Getting your name on this list would be like getting the YT Editor to feature a video you sent in, it just doesn’t happen. Plus, no event could come more packed with potential drama than this one. After everything that has come to light in this post, I’m sensing a late night battle royale for affections come July 11.

Finally we will get to see what happens when the cameras come down and the claws come out.

Auckland YouTube Gathering

As the Gathering approached YouTubers from around New Zealand made the trek to Auckland for the second ever meet up. Tubers flew up from around the country, and some even drove to pick others up, with Patrick (Patrickblog) giving Corey (storycorey) a ride, and Lewis (lewisbostock), Tenani (nanisnap) and Dannie (ThatEnglishGirl111) made a 6 hour trip to Kerikeri to pick up Levi (corporalcadet).

Gathering morning:
As the initial awkwardness faded away, the group began introductions and meeting new YouTubers. Anna (aaannarose) started her scavenger hunt game to try and break the ice. The clues led players to a YouTuber, who then gave them the next clue in the game. YTers were wondering where Juno (junoluvsu), Kate (kbellebee) and Simon (pommypictures) were, when someone saw them peeking out from around the corner. Tenani went running over to see a hyperventilating Juno and encouraged them all to come meet the group. Rache (wizardneedsfoodbadly) arrived late and Juno went running up to say the password and claim her prize.

After an hour or so of chatting and mingling, the group started to wonder where Damien (DamienEstreich), the community manager of YouTube AU/NZ was, as well as Juan (JuanMann) aka Free Hugs Guy. They were supposed to arrive at 10AM when the Gathering started like everyone else, but instead didn’t show up. The Tubers gave them two hours, and at 12pm left Britomart for the covered foodcourt of SkyCity Metro. Rumours were flying about the reasons for the no show by Damien and Juan, with the common thought to be that they were deported from New Zealand because they wrote ‘YouTube’ as their occupation on their immigration cards and passport control thought they were taking the piss.

On the way to SkyCity, the Tubers encountered an anti-Scientology group on a street corner, with signs which read such things as “WE’RE FROM THE INTERNET” and “SCIENTOLOGY IS A CULT” Apparently Corey managed to get the number of one of the girls in the group, and so will be staying with her in Auckland for a few more days. A few of the YouTubers also told the protesters that they were actually from the internet and so took the pictures below…

After a few adventures along Queen St and a random tour by Tenani of the history of the place, the YouTubers found themselves in the SkyCity Metro complex. The group split in two and half of them went to get food while the other half played in the rocket shaped elevator. After packing out the elevator to dangerous levels, and numerous attempts by Tenani to actually make the elevator work, the group were off, shooting towards the ceiling while watching the other group with their food.

Once the YouTubers regrouped they ordered food where many were suprised to see Levi actually eating. The kid is a stick, it was such a shock! Soon it was time for a few of the YTers to go and check into their hotels. While they were away, the group moved downstairs to Borders where they hid from eachother and had book readings. Security asked them to leave. Boo.

After leaving Borders and meeting up with the kids who went to check into their hotel, the group posed for some pictures outside the store, and then moved on to Aotea Square, where they again posted for photos, filmed some collaborative ideas, and mingled some more. Then the group played YouTube’s Got Talent and tried to do things ranging from rapping to dancing, but failed miserably and proved once and for all that YouTube does not in fact Have Talent. It was at this point that Simon and Juno misteriously dissappeared into Starbucks for a few minutes, only to return with Simon slightly distracted. He then proceeded to jump directly into a concrete bench, as witnessed by all. What did they possibly do in their absence from the group? Surely they weren’t buying coffee?

It was suggested that the group commit some acts of flash mobbiness and decided to infilrate a small convenience store near the square. The small store, about 2m x 3m was slowly but surely packed with about 20 people, all while the woman behind the counter looked bewildered and asked some people to open the other door so people could get out. She had no idea what was going on.

The next great plan was another act of randomness. This time the plan was to freeze in the middle of crossing the road in a big group. The group split up and went on different sides of the roads, and then froze in the middle of a crossing. The first attempt wasn’t very good, but on the second go, cars started honking their horns and other pedestrians looked very confused. Once again at Britomart the group decided to go to check out front for the elusive Damien and Juan. They found Damien in the foreign exchange desk and surrounded him. He didn’t look very suprised to see them and led them outside to where Juan was waiting, explaining that they had been running on Australia time and that’s why they were late. The afternoon was filled with Free Hugs Related fun and even some chain spooning. Passersby were mostly positive and accepted offers for free hugs and didn’t look too shocked to see a line of mostly boys spooning on the side of the road.

As the afternoon wore on the group decided that it was again time for food and went inside the nearby Westfield mall to grab a bite to eat. Here they pulled together a bunch of tables and sat around it, playing chinese whispers, which all ended up dirty (shows what’s on the minds of YouTubers).

After the food and chinese whispers it was time for the group to split up and head home, the Gathering was over. But that was not where the gossip ends, NZYTGossip got the scoop on the afterparty of Tenani, Dannie, Levi, Anna, Lewis, James, Jess and Corey, with Juno, Simon, Kate, Rache and Juan and Damien there as well.

LATER THAT NIGHT…

During the first part of the night, it was a time to get honest, and it was Juno’s time to shine. Not one, not two but THREE YouTubers professed their love for Juno. James, Tenani and Corey all proclaimed their attraction to her, making things more difficult to figure out for her, as she had been considering divorcing Tenani for a while now. With the choice of two potential lovers, her decision had gotten a lot more difficult.

While Juno, Simon and Kate had to leave early, the rest of the gang proceeded to get heavily intoxicated and attempt to crack my identity. In their drunk state they interrogated eachother to see what information about me everyone knew and then tried to work out from that who I was. After many many discussions and a day spent with lots of NZ YouTubers they still hadn’t figured it out. *ahem* fail.

While dancing around the room to Womanizer, James threw his leg straight up in front of Tenani, who got a full on view of what James was packing, much to his disgust. This caused Tenani to lose his dinner and promtly throw up out the window and onto a group of Levi worshippers camped outside.

Meanwhile Dannie attempted to get close to Levi, only for him to shun her for the attention of Damien, who obviously has the power to make or break his YouTube career. To deal with this Dannie turned to drinking, and ended up running off with Tenani in the hallway for an hour, no one quite knows what happened while they were away, but rumour has it Levi wouldn’t like it if he found out.

Wine and shots got the best of Anna, who ended up thinking it would be a good idea to lick the YouTubers present, and proceeded to lick her way around the room. Dry humping also became a favourite way to pass the time for her, and she even dry humped Tenani, Lewis and Jess in the elevator of the hotel, quite brutally, I hear.

2.33am and Levi and Patrick fall asleep together. Lovers or friends?

Levi seems to be working his way around YouTube quickly huh? Is he now onto Patrick? The two were spotted sleeping together in the early hours of the morning.

Farewells and Gatherings

Sadly, Cody (davanti) has decided to leave YouTube. He has been involved in the community actively and also was a founding father of Vlogbytes. He says he will return to YouTube in due course with a slew of new videos. His excuse? His parents were not happy about YT’s affect on his school work. Are we really going to believe this excuse? Is there something more to the situation? GGIs check your inboxes, there is a new recon assignment.

Y0uTubeWeekly, new weekly NZYT review channel launches October 1st. But who is behind it? Some are saying that it’s me, but let me assure you, that channel is in no way affilitated with me, Gossip Girl, or the NZYTGossip site. And as far as I know it isn’t run by any GGIs either. Any further information about this channel will be much appreciated.

GGIs stalking Twitter are reporting that Dannie (ThatEnglishGirl111) is planning to leave New Zealand to return to the UK after the emotional trauma caused by Levi (corporalcadet) proved to be too much for her to handle.

It seems the Twilight phenomenon has hit NZYT and has claimed Jess (Jessums31) and Rache (wizardneedsfoodbadly) as its first victims. GGIs on skype have reported long and tedious conversations about the American vampire series and it is beginning to show on their neglected channels. Could the real curse of the vampire be the decline of the once bubbling YouTube channels?

The seller of an apparent sex tape featuring Patrick (Patrickblog) has decided not to continue negotiations with NZYTGossip until after Patrick gets out of The Edge Next Top Friend house, for fear of the sex tape affecting his chances of winning.

Perpetrators in the destruction of FAK apologize. I think it’s time we put this behind us. As far as GG is concerned Kit (Kitcomedy), Taylor (ThatDoorGuy), Sam (ArcadeCore) and Nick (ClariceOnline) are forgiven. Not sure about the rest of NZYT though…

Ryan (TheNewZealandishBrit) is has made arrangements to go to the NZYT Gathering in his dad’s limo. Rumour has it he has arranged for Jo Cotton to ride topless with him in the limo’s included spa pool.

Since appearing on vlogbytes, Baz (kaabaz) gets constantly stalked in Invercargill. Apparently police were called to his house last week after he caught Cody trying to sneak girls into his house. Allegedly, Cody had been requesting sexual favours of the girls in exchange for Baz’s address.

Trouble in YTland

Looks like I’ve relaunched just at the right time, because drama is rife in NZYTland.

FAK HACKED?

Let me start with the major story of the week, which I’m sure you are all aware of, and that is the FiveAwesomeKiwis situation. As we all know, the second generation of FAKers called it quits when they realised they couldn’t keep the momentum going that the first generation had achieved. The channel lay dormant for a couple months before a random one of some weird guy appeared. The rumours started flying. Next thing we know the channel relaunches for a third time with an all new cast.

Now obviously this new cast was just trying to leech subscribers off of FiveAwesomeKiwis, that much was obvious, but the real question is whether or not the channel was hacked, or one of the five second generation FAKers gave out the password?

I’ve had emails from most of the nine original FAKers about this situation and all of them claim they don’t know how the password out and most of them point the blame at the others. The most common accusations are at Patrick (Patrickblog), allegedly out of spite for his generation spanning failure at keeping the channel going; or Ben (BattleSoup) and Jayson (justanotherkiwi) out of spite of their new channel (KiwiCollision) not taking off.

Either way, the new cast of FAK barred all previous cast members from commenting, as well as a few other prominent YouTubers. This caused the original cast to freak out and report the channel to the YT powers that be, who promptly moved to suspend the account.

And thus ends a chapter in NZYT history, FAK is suspended and the community is torn apart by FiveFuckingKiwis who thought they piggy back on the success of others. Nice try though.

LEVI, A YOUTUBE MLUT?

Latest update on Levi (corporalcadet) and Dannie (ThatEnglishGirl111) is that recently Levi came down to Auckland and spent the night at Dannie’s house. Yes. Spent the night. Details are sketchy on what actually went on that night, but Twitter sleuthing tells me that Dannie claims that she “slipped” and fell on Levi while watching a movie. What part of him, I wonder? The situation has left Dannie confused after Levi claimed he was single when most on YouTube know quite well that he has a girlfriend in Kerikeri. Could this simply have been an Auckland booty call for NZ’s most popular YouTuber?

And now for the quick-fire round:

-Simon (simonPARASITE) is rumoured to be having an online relationship with Shawna (Nanalew), and hopes to meet up with her at the Sydney AusOne Gathering.

-Ryan (TheNewZealandishBrit) has reached 100 subscribers after coming out of nowhere to becoming among the who’s who of NZYT.

-Tenani (nanisnap) was left out of the collaboration video for Juno’s birthday. Jealousy from Cameron (EnglishCameron), who organised it (and has a major crush on Juno)?

-Rache (wizardneedsfoodbadly) and Jess (jessums31) are falling deeply in love with Josh (skishua). Now that Levi-Dannie-Tenani has fizzled out, could we have a new YT love triangle on the horizon?

-Lauren (VivaLaLauren) has a strange obsession with New Zealand and New Zealanders. Apparently she stays up until unnatural hours just to talk to our NZYTers… strange.

This just in!

Apparently a sex tape exists featuring Patrick. NZYTGossip is currently negotiating with the seller for exclusive access to this tape but so far all we’ve recieved is this supposidly “scandalous” picture. But to us it doesn’t really show anything more than an average Patrickblog vlog.

They’re not gay

Welcome, viewers of JUNOLUVSU. As she said: Read, Laugh and Accuse.

So turns out I was right, and there was a LOT more to the Joe (TheJoeFrom1993) and Alex (AlexTheOwl) drama than we saw at first. Turns out they are a couple! In the final part of their ‘Let’s-trick-Joe’s-subscribers-so-that-Alex-gets-tons-of-attention-and-then-we-can-shock-them-with-a-kiss’ saga, Joe and Alex finally show the world who they are to eachother by hooking up at the local playground. Anyone else a little weirded out by that random third wheel guy behind the camera watching? Odd. The video was removed from Joe’s channel because his subscribers (and YTHQ) can’t handle boys kissing. It’s still up on Alex’s channel though, if anyone wants to check it out (see above). And don’t worry, if YT takes Alex’s one down as well, I have copies of the last few videos. By the way, they both claim they’re not gay, which would lead me to believe that they’re bisexual.

Anyway, congrats Joe and Alex, well played drama, just what I like…

Circus love, threesomes and collab reality shows?

Morning all. Here’s the latest little roundup from around NZYT. This one’s pretty long…

Last week Dannie (ThatEnglishGirl111), Tenani (nanisnap) and Rache (wizardneedsfoodbadly) went to the circus together. Jess (Jessums31) and Lewis (lewisbostock) were also invited but both declined. Could there be a new spark in their IRL relationship. A couple months ago I said that they have been meeting up IRL but that seemed to have stopped, perhaps they’re at it again.

Following on from that, Levi (corporalcadet) does not seem to be happy at all about Tenani and Dannie going on dates. An anonymous source tells me that he had come to the conclusion that the stalemate that he and Tenani had going was pointless, and so had decided to engage in some threesome action. You know what they say; if you can’t beat em, join em. First Lady of NZYT Dannie seems to be down for whatever. Do we finally have an end to the TDL saga?

Joe (TheJoeFrom1993) has been having a video flame-off with his new arch nemisis Alex (AlexTheOwl). Joe asked for people to post hate videos as a joke, but Alex exploded on camera for real. The action came to a climax when they had a filmed Skype conversation where Alex (15 years old) stripped down until he was naked, holding his goods on camera. YouTube didn’t like a naked 15 year old one bit and promptly took the video down.

Despite this Alex’s subscriber count is skyrocketing on the back of Joe’s fame. GG thinks there may be more to this relationship then first meets the eye…

A truckload of new NZYTers have recently come to my attention, with the virtual explosion of involvement from one TheNewZealandishBrit. He has been everywhere on YouTube lately, it’s been quite hard to miss him. Apparently he will be making videos soon too. Do we think he’ll be more like a new Patrickblog or a new TheJoeFrom1993? Another new YTer is EnglishCameron, who has also recently started making videos.

I have to say I quite like his videos, they are a nice harp back to the good old days of vlogging, which just doesn’t happen these days on the bigger NZYT channels. Check him out, he has GG approval. Also a little bit of gossip on him (suprise) it seems that both Kate (kbellbee) and Tenani (nanisnap) may have crushes on him, stay tuned for more info on this one…

There is another new collab channel on the block, this one called vlogbytes. It features Kate, Tenani, Lewis, Jess, Simon (pommypictures), Cody (davanti) and Juno (junoluvsu). This one involves the members putting up videos under two minutes and asking a question for the next uploader (after answering the previous question). It’s an interesting concept, I think. They also will be opening the channel up to subscribers to make videos in the future, which should be another interesting twist to observe. Let’s see how the channel measures up to KiwiCollision, the new collab channel from Ben (BattleSoup) and Jayson (justanotherkiwi).

In non-NZ YouTube news, NZYT fan Kim (kimbrrrrrly) has been in Germany for the past couple of weeeks on a random trip over there. Various sources have told me that she is competing in a German reality show in the vein of The Bachelor, but somehow I find this hard to believe. Any information reguarding her trip would be appreciated (nzytgossip@gmail.com).
